Product Information
The Evans Hydraulic 8" tom head delivers the fat, deep tone that defined 1970s rock and roll drumming. Built with a thin layer of oil sandwiched between two plies of polyester film, this design suppresses unwanted overtones while remaining remarkably easy to tune. The result is a controlled attack, short decay, and dark tonal character suited to players chasing vintage rock or modern studio precision.
Two plies of 6.5–7.5 mil film provide maximum durability for gigging and studio work. Level 360 Technology expands the usable pitch range and simplifies tuning across the drum's head surface, eliminating dead spots that plague single–ply designs. The oil damping layer is exclusive to Evans Hydraulic heads and cannot be replicated by competing manufacturers. Available in glass, red, blue, and black finishes, each head is engineered and manufactured in the USA to strict tolerances.
