Product Information
The Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 4-string carries forward nearly five decades of design refinement, anchored by neodymium humbucking pickups and an 18-volt 3-band active preamp that delivers both modern punch and vintage character. This Violet Sparkle iteration in rosewood fretboard maintains the StingRay's unmistakable voice whilst shedding weight through contoured body design and lightweight hardware, making it equally at home in studio sessions or touring rigs. The instrument's sculpted neck joint grants uninhibited access to all 22 stainless steel frets along a roasted maple neck finished in gunstock oil and hand-rubbed wax.
Construction centres on select hardwoods with a high-gloss polyester finish, whilst the 34-inch scale and 1-11/16-inch nut width establish traditional bass proportions across a 44-7/8-inch overall length. The 5-bolt neck attachment with perfect alignment eliminates shifting, whilst lightweight custom Music Man tuning machines with ergonomic clover design preserve tuning stability without adding headweight. A 3-band preamp offers independent control over volume, treble, mid, and bass frequencies across 18 volts of clean headroom, accommodating everything from tight-fingered articulation to slap techniques. The chrome-plated steel bridge with vintage nickel saddles completes the signal path from pickup to output.
