Product Information
Ernie Ball's Earthwood Bell Bronze acoustic strings combine 80% copper with 20% tin to produce a bronze alloy that sits between the brightness of traditional 80/20 and the warmth of phosphor bronze. This medium gauge set (13–56) is wound on a hex–shaped steel core wire, delivering increased volume and sustain compared to lighter sets. The bell bronze formulation produces a clear midrange presence with enhanced harmonic complexity across the frequency spectrum.
The set comprises a .013 plain, .017 plain, .026 wound, .036 wound, .046 wound, and .056 wound configuration, providing enough tension for dropped tunings and hard–hitting strumming techniques without sacrificing playability. Each wound string uses bell bronze wrap wire over the hex core, creating a surface texture that grips the fretboard during bends while maintaining intonation stability. The alloy's tin content resists corrosion longer than standard bronze, extending string life in humid Australian conditions.
