DPA's 4099 CORE+ is a supercardioid instrument microphone engineered for high sound-pressure environments, combining the Danish maker's established close-miking methodology with measurably upgraded capsule architecture. Built on CORE+ technology, it delivers 10 dB wider dynamic range and a 3 dB higher clipping point than its predecessor, making it capable of tracking everything from piano and violin to brass and percussion without distortion or signal loss.
The 4099 CORE+ mounts via an overhauled gooseneck system featuring the new G-MOUNT locking mechanism, designed for single-handed positioning and enhanced vibration isolation. The redesigned shock mount improves structure–borne noise rejection, whilst an IP58 rating ensures durability in demanding live settings. Connection runs through a detachable MicroLock® XLR connector compatible with most wireless systems. The refined clip programme accommodates diverse instrument profiles; users can source 4– or 10–piece kits with matched adapters, cables and clips tailored to classical or rock applications.
Supercardioid polar pattern and linear off–axis response provide well–balanced isolation from neighbouring instruments and stage wash, critical in orchestral reinforcement scenarios. The lightweight, discreet form factor sits invisibly during performance whilst maintaining gain–before–feedback margins that support floor monitors and main PA feeds alike. Lightweight design and flexible mounting make it practical for touring engineers managing multi–instrument rigs, where one capsule model can serve an entire ensemble with the right clip set.
