Product Information
The DiMarzio Area 67 rewrites the rulebook for single-coil Stratocaster pickups by delivering authentic 1967-era chime and clarity without the hum that plagued vintage designs. Inspired by the tone heard at the Monterey Pop Festival, this pickup uses patented Area technology to cancel noise while preserving the bright, clean character of classic single-coils. Magnet pull is reduced by 40% compared to traditional designs, allowing strings to vibrate more freely for enhanced sustain and note definition.
The Area 67 uses a hum-cancelling rail design that eliminates the 60-cycle buzz inherent in standard single-coils while maintaining true vintage tonal response. Reduced magnetic field strength ensures notes bloom naturally with improved clarity across all positions. The middle and bridge combination positions deliver the signature quack and sparkle that defined Strat tones in the late 1960s, with airy highs and glassy midrange articulation. Available in cream finish, this pickup fits standard Stratocaster routing and wiring configurations.
