DiMarzio's 3-position On/On/On DPDT mini toggle switch descends from the world's first pickup toggle, discovered in a 1970s Manhattan closeout bin and first mounted on the original Dual Sound® pickup. The same switching principle that allowed coil selection between series and parallel configurations now enables endless wiring combinations–coil tapping, pickup voicing, phase reversal–across guitars from budget builds to signature instruments used by touring players.
The EP1108 features a threaded shaft standing 11/32" (8.731 mm) tall with standard 1/4" (6.35 mm) diameter, designed to minimise real estate demands in crowded control cavities. Installation hardware includes two nuts, a finish washer, and saw–tooth lock washer. The DPDT configuration supports six switching states across three positions, providing the flexibility that made these switches standard on BC Rich guitars since 1975 and visible on landmark albums like Al Di Meola's Elegant Gypsy (1977).
Whether retrofitting a vintage Les Paul or engineering custom voice options into a new build, the EP1108 pairs with DiMarzio's comprehensive wiring diagrams to clarify every switching application.
