Product Information
The D'Addario XLB090 is a single long-scale bass string manufactured at D'Addario's New York facility. Constructed from nickel-plated steel with round-wound design, this .090 gauge delivers the bright, articulate tone and clear fundamentals essential for cutting through dense mixes. Available as an individual replacement string or as part of a custom set, it's engineered with proprietary core wire drawn in-house to maximise break strength and intonation stability.
The nickel-plated steel wrap provides distinctive brightness alongside increased output, bite, and sustain–characteristics valued by session and touring players alike. Uncoated construction means minimal finger noise and faster string response, though corrosion resistance remains high relative to historical alternatives. The long-scale specification suits four-string and five-string basses with extended scale lengths, making it ideal for players requiring substantial low-end projection without sacrificing note definition across the fundamental frequency range.
