Product Information

Blackmagic Design's DeckLink SDI Micro is a compact PCIe capture and playback card engineered for broadcast and post-production workflows demanding professional SDI connectivity. Built around four bi-directional 12G–SDI connections, this card captures and outputs across SD, HD, 2K, 4K, and 8K standards with single, dual, and quad link support. The addition of HDMI 2.1 in/out provides flexibility for hybrid workflows without sacrificing broadcast–grade signal integrity.

The card handles up to 64 channels of embedded audio in 4K and 8K modes, with television standard 48 kHz, 24–bit sampling across all inputs and outputs. Colour precision reaches 12–bit RGB 4:4:4 and 10–bit YUV 4:2:2, supporting Rec. 601, Rec. 709, and Rec. 2020 colour spaces with full HDR via HLG and PQ transfer characteristics. Frame rates span 120 fps in HD and 4K, and 60 fps in 8K, enabling high–speed acquisition for demanding visual effects and feature film production. The PCI Express 3.0 interface requires an 8–lane slot and external power connection.

DaVinci Resolve, Media Express, and Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility ship included, with firmware updates delivered via the software driver. The card integrates with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, and dozens of third–party broadcast and streaming tools. Engineers working in colour grading, live broadcast, digital intermediate mastering, and archive digitisation will find the multi–rate switching and embedded metadata support (RP 188/SMPTE 12M–2, closed captioning) essential for maintaining technical compliance across production chains.
