Product Information

The Black Mountain Guitar Capo combines spring–loaded mechanical efficiency with a chrome–plated steel finish that resists corrosion and maintains tuning stability across six–string acoustic and electric guitars. Its tension mechanism applies even pressure across the fretboard without choking strings or pulling notes sharp, a common issue with cheaper trigger–style capos. The chrome construction adds minimal weight while providing a grip surface that won't mark or discolour nitrocellulose or polyurethane neck finishes, making it reliable for vintage instruments and modern production models alike.

A silicone–padded bar contacts the strings at a width of approximately 42mm, covering standard nut widths from 41mm to 43mm without overhang or gaps that cause buzzing on outer strings. The spring applies roughly 15 to 18 Newtons of clamping force, calibrated to secure bronze and nickel–wound strings from .010 to .013 gauge sets without excessive pressure that fatigues the spring or creates intonation drift. Single–handed operation allows placement and removal in under two seconds, and the capo's 58mm frame depth clears most fretboard radii from 7.25" to 16" without interfering with fretting hand position in lower positions.
