Aston Microphones burst onto the scene in 2016 with the Origin. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the large diaphragm condenser mic quickly found its way into the collections of big-time engineers, producers, and artists despite being priced for the home studio.
The philosophy of Aston Microphone design is to challenge everything. In envisioning the Origin, the engineering team looked at every material, component, and design choice that had become 'standardised' in the industry. By questioning these norms, they were able to create something both highly optimised for musicality and incredibly efficient to manufacture.
This same process has seen the company release a stream of well-received microphones, including the multi-pattern condenser Spirit, broadcast dynamic Stealth, and the ultra-affordable large diaphragm Element. These products have not only established Aston as a major player in microphone design, but also affected a massive shift in the market towards high-quality mics that the average music maker can afford.
