Festival Time !

It's that time again, when there's a veritable festival-fest around the country: time for a quick update.

Homebake 2010 has been cancelled, for various reasons - the organisers have described it as a 'the planets failed to allign'.  Whatever that means exactly the home-grown festival that has become known for huge line-ups of local talent won't be happening this year.. fingers crossed for Homebake 2011.

Philip Island's Pyramid Rock Festival is up and running, with tickets going on sale at the beginning of September.  You'll be able to see such acts as N*E*R*D, The Temper Trap, Chromeo, Liam Finn and the mighty Tumbleweed.
The festival runs from Dec. 29th to Jan. 1st.

No Sleep 'Til : For all hard-rockin' music fans who like their festivals LOUD !  Bands include Megadeth, NOFX, Atreyu, and Sydney's own Frenzel Rhomb.  Starting out in Auckland, NZ. the show travels to Oz and then around the country.. landing at the Melbourne Showgrounds on Dec. 17th.  Pack your earplugs !

Somewhat down on the ear-crunching scale is the Meredith Music Festival which runs from Dec. 10th to Dec. 12th.  Acts include the Dirty Three, Neil Finn, The Fall, and the amazing Reverend Horton Heat.
